Required postings exist so your employees are aware of their employment rights and various workplace laws and regulations. The postings also inform employees of how they can make contact with regulatory officials to report violations or obtain additional information. As employment law enforcement is handled by a number of different State and Federal agencies, each responsible agency or department is responsible for distribution of their own posters. This makes is very difficult for the average employer to know which posters are required or even where to find them. That is why the Michigan Chamber stepped in to consolidate ALL the required postings on four attractively printed and laminated sheets.
Agencies of both the State and Federal governments require various postings be available in a common area regularly visited by employees where they have an unobstructed opportunity to read them. Entry areas, break rooms, near restrooms, the corporate bulletin board, or along main hallways are common locations where posters are placed.
Many people ask how often the safety poster and labor law posters are revised. No one can accurately predict this as the posting revisions result from regulatory or legislative changes that follow no set timetable. During the nineties, we went several years with no revisions. However, the last few years have seen a series of changes, such as:
